… A three-day Tracts & Publication programme blending compassion, capacity building, and consecrated service in advancing the Gospel

In furtherance of the end-time evangelistic mandate of our Father in the Lord, Dr. D.K Olukoya, General Overseer, Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries worldwide, the Tracts and Publication (T&P) Group of MFM South West 6 Mega Regional Headquarters Ota, recently hosted a spiritually impactful three-day programme designed to give expression to the Living Word through service, sound communication, and purposeful ministry. The programme brought together members across the Mega Region axis in a rare blend of outreach, instruction, and total church service.

The event commenced with a humanitarian outreach to the Lord’s Heritage Orphanage in Ogun State, where members of the group expressed the love of Christ by donating gift items and sharing words of hope. The visit served as a practical reminder that Christian communication transcends ink and print; it must also find expression through love, compassion, and service.

Day Two of the programme was both intellectually enriching and spiritually stimulating, as participants gathered for a public lecture delivered by Bro. Fred Egoma, a seasoned journalist and Christian writer, on the theme “Writing with Purpose: Enhancing Effectiveness in Christian Publications.” He opened memorably with a powerful illustration that immediately captured the audience’s attention.

The speaker recounted the story of a preacher who ministered in a town for just one night and left unnoticed the following morning—except for a gospel tract he unknowingly dropped behind. Weeks later, the tract was picked up by a troubled young man and became the instrument of his salvation. Years afterwards, the man—now a pastor—would testify: “I do not remember the preacher’s name, but I remember the words he left behind.”

Through this illustration, the speaker underscored a timeless truth: sermons may end, and voices may fade, but written words endure—often travelling farther and living longer than their authors. Quoting the renowned preacher, Charles Spurgeon, he noted that “a touching gospel tract may be the seed of eternal life,” emphasising that even brief encounters or silent moments can be used by God through written materials to spread the gospel.

He further stressed that Christian writing must rise above hobbyism, noting that its depth, authority, and relevance are rooted in the living Word of God. According to him, a Christian writer must first be a diligent student of Scripture before aspiring to influence minds through print or digital platforms.
Drawing from years of professional journalism and faith-based writing, the speaker highlighted the weighty responsibility borne by Christian communicators to shape values, correct misinformation, and present truth with clarity and grace—especially in an era characterised by digital noise and sensationalism.

Participants were encouraged to embrace:
– Purpose-driven content
– Editorial discipline
– Ethical responsibility
– Consistency in spiritual growth

The lecture was highly interactive, with participants asking thoughtful questions bordering on relevance, audience engagement, and sustaining credibility in Christian publications. The speaker’s responses offered practical guidance, blending professional experience with deep scriptural insight.

The intellectual feast was further enriched by a Public Speaking session led by the Mega Regional Coordinator of the Tracts and Publications unit. The session emphasised the relevance of effective verbal communication in Christian ministry, highlighting key attributes such as confidence, clarity, poise, diction, and purposeful delivery. Practical pronunciation and language drills added depth to the engagement, equipping participants for a balanced ministry in both writing and speaking.

The programme reached its climax on Day Three, as the Tracts and Publication Group took full responsibility for the Sunday service—covering ushering, choir ministration, Bible reading, and other key assignments. This demonstrated unity, excellence, and commitment to service. The Senior Regional Overseer/Mega Regional Overseer, Pastor Wale Adeolumuyiwa, delivered the sermon with unfeigned zeal for gospel penetration and offered special prayers for the group and the congregation.

Highlights of the service included the presentation of musical instruments to the Mega Region Choir; the free distribution of Christian publications to worshippers; the donation of 4,000 well-illustrated gospel tracts for children, teenagers, youths, and adults to the Evangelism Group; and the unveiling of a forthcoming Book Club initiative targeted at students across the Mega Regional axis.

The three-day programme concluded with a special thanksgiving service. In his closing remarks, the Mega Regional T&P Coordinator, Bro. Bode Oduwobi, expressed profound gratitude to God, the unrelenting partners, the national leadership, and all members of the group for their unwavering support. He also expressed optimism that future editions of the programme would be expanded to span a full week of spiritually enriching activities—all to the glory of God.
