Today, the ministry has become the envy of many, not excluding even the older churches.

The three-day event, which brought a convergence of people from all walks of life, will forever be etched in the annals of history as a landmark achievement worthy of praising God endlessly. The community of believers and not a few columns of well-wishers came together in a vibrant display of love, unity and festivity to celebrate the God of Elijah. As the excited members adorned their finest colours for the great occasion, the atmosphere was filled with an uncontainable sense of joy, purpose and praise. This milestone celebration was more than just a moment. It was a testament to the power of shared values, unwavering faith in God and the conscious expectation of the second coming of Christ. The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries has been intentional in propagating the gospel of Jesus Christ to the world over the succeeding years. The birth of the ministry in those humble days of its emergence left many in awe, considering its prayer style which some consider entirely strange by their interpretations of what is technically beyond their depth of spiritual comprehension.

But before long, “the come and see what God is doing” at the prayer meetings held at the then 60 Old Yaba Road, by those who witnessed first-hand the riveting miracles and wonders of the limitless God, the attraction to other Christians and people from the other faiths and beliefs, became too compelling to be ignored. And by the time the prayer facility got overstretched by those who came to confirm what they heard, it became incumbent on the authority of the church to source for a bigger space which is today the international headquarters of the ministry at Onike.

From that moment, there was no looking back, as the ministry became the go-to place for deliverance. Little wonder that it earned the sobriquet: Spiritual Specialist Teaching Hospital. There were countless numbers of medical as well as spiritual problems entertained in the church with great testimonies as proof that God surely works wonders in the ministry. This has severally led to a surge of people coming to any of the church’s spiritual programmes for solutions to life-threatening problems.

Not a few would attest to the fact that the recently held thirty-fifth anniversary and global convention of the church, made a huge historical statement with the unprecedented number of people from Nigeria and other parts of the globe, who thronged the prayer ground of the Prayer City to acknowledge God for using the church to deliver many souls from the stranglehold of satan.

In the months leading to the landmark event, the hierarchy of the ministry left nothing to chance, as it convened a select committee of proven men and women to work out the modalities for a successful anniversary celebration. The Convention Committee, led by one of our articulate Assistant General Overseer, Pastor Biodun Aladejola, duly supported by Pastor Clement Imoru, Senior Regional Overseer, and others, took the huge task to heart and the projections, as well as the impressive outcomes, demonstrate their commitment to nothing short of success.

Three decades ago, the ministry demonstrated to the world that, God remains the miracle worker that His presence ever conveys in space and time. Quite naturally, the human mind often does not dwell in the little beginnings of most great enterprises; the profound level of success seems to sometimes dwarf such innocence pronounced in elaborate obedience to the instructions of God. The historical antecedents of this awesome ministry are well documented. What started with barely 24 worshipers in an atmosphere that did not feign true commitment to the God of Elijah, grew astronomically spanning the seven continents of the world. The uniqueness of the ministry continues to make bold headlines in Christendom and elsewhere.

Whenever and wherever there is a prayer programme of the church, even without any signpost, it is not difficult to know that, the church is present in such a location. Its prayer modules are consciously highlighted with a shout and physical engagement that depict all that the prayer points convey. So, its identity obviously speaks volumes of what the church stands for: train its members’ hands for war and their fingers for battle, as highlighted in Psalms 144:1. The import here is that, “You need to stop the enemy before they stop you.” Dr Olukoya has at every ministerial opportunity emphasised that you need to establish your position of authority and displace the ravenous wolves who would stop at nothing to destroy if given the opportunity.

But by far the most gratifying piece of good news is that the same prayers for which the church was criticized have now become a model joyfully adopted by some other churches. The case of the proverbial stone which was rejected but later ended up being the head of the corner. Surprisingly, the General Overseer of the ministry, Dr D.K Olukoya, a lover of God, would not brood over such issues; rather, he has always welcomed the development with these encouraging words: “If there were no good results, it wouldn’t have been this popularized.”
